Between Christmas and New Year my sister and I decided to have a mini-adventure near her house in Manchester. We decided to make a trip to nearby Dunham Massey, at stately home and park on the outskirts of Altrincham (confusingly pronounced Alt-ring-ham). It was cold, but beautiful.
So I’ve been back in Manchester properly for the first time since I went to London. 8 months is a long time in this ever changing city, and it has gone crazy.
I’m slowly eeking my way up to 100 items, which meant introducing a new rule:
- Any item actually put to use (that was previously just living life ignored on a shelf) then this counts towards the 100.
It has been a trying week. At some point I will write about it all, but for now I’ll just say that I start a new job in 3 weeks and that I am very much enjoying my garden leave from my old employer. In the meantime a weekend away with good people (and happily completely unconnected to my work) was a definite good thing. There was much drinking, and even more laughter.
